​​My own Memorial Day tribute to my Dad, Lawrence Peters, who served in the Canadian Military. 
Thank you to all those who serve, past, present and future, and their families . 

I worked out that i have 61 days at Red Star Studios. At 10-12 hours a day, thats around about 650 plus hours of glorious studio time. I cannot wait to see what happens.

JULY 9th - 10th - LYNN PETERS
SURFACE DECORATION FOR LOW-FIRE CERAMICS
During her Visiting Artist Residency at Red Star Studios, Peters’ will present a workshop based on topics introduced in her book, Surface Decoration for Low-Fire Ceramics. Bring your own low-fire bisqueware on Day 1 and Peters will demonstrate a variety of techniques to achieve painterly results. The work will be fired so participants can share their results the following day. The session concludes with a visual journaling exercise that will inspire ideas for future projects. Day 2 begins with studio time to create a representational sculpture based on photographic images and the previous day’s journaling. Later in the day, Peters will demonstrate post-firing surface techniques as well as the use of mixed media to realize aesthetic and conceptual ideas.
